Autumn Grove Farm is a 150 acre farm located in Farmville, Virginia.
We specialize primarily in beef and turkey. We raise primarily Black Angus and are members of the Beef Quality Assurance Program. Our cattle are pasture raised and fed on over 90 acres of pasture land. Our beef cattle are sold on hoof from a quarter portion up to the whole cow.
We also raise Narragansett heritage breed turkeys which are on albc-usa.org's "threatened" list. These birds have received excellent reviews by many chefs and considered hardy and tasty.
The cattle and turkeys have free range of the pastures and live in a very clean, peaceful and tranquil environment without stress. We take pride in the living conditions of all the animals and welcome you to visit the farm and see the source of your food from farm directly to your table. We believe strongly in supporting local farmers and locally grown food and believe we supply a superior product.
We are not organic certified and do not plan to do so, we feel our operation is even better. The term "organic" has been so watered down, in our opinion at Autumn Grove Farm, and offers somewhat of a false sense of security to those seeking quality food for their families. We encourage everyone to research and education themselves on the guidelines of the "organic" food label and industry foods. While we applaud anyone who is trying to improve the quality of the food they offer, "organic" beef or turkeys can and are still raised without true pasture living. They can be cage-confined the majority of their life without access to clean air, sunshine (vitamin D), exercise, a natural diet of grass, insects & bugs, and the opportunity to be the wonderful animals they are.
